Literacy grants · East Idaho

More books.
More readers.

We help schools, libraries, and local groups in East Idaho get books into more hands and give readers of all ages a place to learn.

01 / Our mission

Everyone deserves a chance to read.

We love what happens when someone finds a book they want to read. A child gets lost in a story. An adult feels more sure of what they’re reading at work. We want more people in East Idaho to have those chances.

We help pay for books, reading materials, and places to learn. We also support training for the teachers, tutors, and mentors who help readers build their skills.

What we support

  • Libraries
  • Classrooms
  • Tutoring & mentoring
  • Independent literacy programs
  • Professional development

Books for Red Ribbon Week

We were happy to provide books for students at the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections in St. Anthony. The books were for Red Ribbon Week, when students had a chance to learn about reading as a healthy hobby and where to find books. Thanks to Winnie & Mo’s in Idaho Falls for helping us pick the books!

A new home for the Menan Annis Grant Library

The foundation walls went in for the new Menan Annis Grant Library! That’s a big step toward giving local readers more room to find books, learn, and spend time together.

A place to settle in with a book

The shelves started filling up, and the cozy chairs went in. The new reading space at Independence High School is coming together, with room for students to pick out a book and settle in.
